Mazuelo 2.004
Barely 2,000 hectares of Mazuelo vines are grown in La Rioja. Because they have a longer growth cycle, they need a good climate pattern for the grapes to ripen well, and they are very prone to powdery mildew. However, by limiting their production and harvesting late, we are able to obtain wines of high colour and acidity, with very fresh aromas and an unmistakably different personality. They are native to France, where they're known as Carignan Noir. |
