The 2006 Harvest was officially rated as VERY GOOD by the Technical Section of the Rioja Qualified Designation of Origin. However, the intense heat in September, and October's unstable weather, meant that the grapes had to be harvested very selectively to ensure that they were at the peak of ripeness and in the best state of health.
